For designers, our annual pilgrimage is High Point, North Carolina, home to the largest home furnishings trade show in the world, and perhaps the best indicator of market trends in the industry. I recently returned from my visual journey through more than 10 million square feet of new and innovative designs with a glimpse into 2018.
The displays at High Point Market were tight and clean, full of graceful lines and layered textures, punctuated by bold colors and mixed styles.
The overall forecast for 2018 seems driven by this array of color – and lots of it! Mindful, it’s not for the faint of heart, but these bright bold, and pale hues of playful colors are woven together to create a new approach in home design for 2018.
Fear not, lovers of modern-day monochromatic. Your style is still safe. White linens and creams are timeless and are the perfect back drop for this new infusion of color. Wherever your palette leads you in the coming year, dare to explore color.
